Her Biz December 2024 Winner

Owner of organisation and decluttering business, Next Chapter Decluttering, wins £500 to jumpstart her business from the NatWest-funded Her Biz Start-Up Business workshops.

After being inspired to transform her own space, marking the start of a new chapter in her life, Julianna Skarżyńska aims to inspire others to transform their own spaces through her start-up business – Next Chapter Decluttering.

Julianna won £500 towards her start-up costs for Next Chapter Decluttering after taking part in the NatWest-funded Her Biz start-up workshop programme in December 2024 and submitting her winning business plan to the following optional competition, which is open to all participants.

The Her Biz programme, delivered by Let’s Do Business Group and supported by NatWest Bank, consists of four 2-hour workshops over four weeks and aims to increase entrepreneurship by breaking down the barriers between women and starting or growing a business. Delivered virtually over Zoom by our expert business coach, the programme has been a long-running success since it launched over five years ago.

What is Next Chapter Decluttering?

When Julianna Skarżyńska founded Next Chapter Decluttering, her goal wasn’t just to help people get rid of clutter – it was to offer a supportive, stress-free approach to transforming living spaces during life’s biggest transitions. Whether a client is moving to a new home, downsizing, coping with bereavement, or simply feeling overwhelmed by an unorganised space, Julianna’s business provides expert decluttering, organising solutions, and emotional support to help them regain control of their environment.

In 2016, inspired by The Magic of Tidying Up, I transformed my own living space, starting a new chapter in my life. Since then, I’ve earned my M.A., had three children, and moved countries twice.

Based in East Sussex, Next Chapter Decluttering is built on the belief that an organised home leads to a clearer mind. Many of Julianna’s clients deal with major changes, including moving into a smaller home, sorting through a loved one’s belongings, or trying to create a more peaceful living space. With a compassionate, non-judgemental approach, she helps them make decisions about what to keep, donate, or discard while ensuring that their space is functional, practical, and truly feels like home.

What makes Next Chapter Decluttering unique is Julianna’s personalised approach, tailoring her services to meet each client’s specific needs – whether it’s one room or an entire house.

Since launching her business, Julianna has already helped multiple clients reduce stress, gain clarity, and create homes they feel comfortable in again.

I believe our belongings shape our lives and can often become overwhelming. My goal is to help others declutter and organise their spaces, creating clarity, new beginnings, and a renewed sense of purpose.
— Julianna Skarżyńska, Owner of Next Chapter Decluttering and December 2024 Her Biz winner

One client, struggling with grief after the loss of a parent, shared how Julianna’s gentle guidance made it possible to go through sentimental belongings without feeling pressured or rushed. Another client, moving from a large home to a smaller apartment, described how the process of decluttering transformed what could have been a stressful transition into an exciting new beginning.

Finding the Her Biz programme

Julianna joined the Her Biz Start-Up Business Workshop to gain clarity on the practicalities of starting her own business and how to turn her ideas for Next Chapter Decluttering into reality.

The Her Biz Women’s Start-Up Business Workshops, delivered through four 2-hour sessions, cover everything from sales, marketing, and finance to business planning. From this, Julianna was able to create a plan to make Next Chapter Decluttering official and turn her hobby into a full-time business. After completing the series of workshops, Julianna submitted her business plan to the subsequent competition, which is open to all attendees, and won the £500 prize towards her start-up costs.

Her Biz was a great experience, even though I struggled to participate fully with a little one to look after. The slides were sent after each session, so I could revisit them in my own time, which was really helpful. The slides covered everything from marketing to finances, and the one-to-one with Lisa helped me pull it all together. Listening to other women going through the same process made it feel real and achievable. Winning the competition was a huge confidence boost, and I’d definitely recommend Her Biz to anyone starting a business – it’s practical, supportive, and gives you the push you need to get started.

Having completed the Her Biz programme with renewed motivation for growing Next Chapter Decluttering, Julianna is now focusing on expanding her impact. She is building a strong client base through referrals, partnering with estate agents and moving companies to offer decluttering as part of relocation services, and offering group workshops on home organisation and techniques to help people regain control of their space.

It was great getting to know Julianna during Her Biz, she is passionate about helping people declutter their homes and has a clear idea of the help that she can offer, she is already thinking up new service offerings to promote to potential clients. Julianna was a worthy winner and I wish her all the nest with her business.
